The Department of Agricultural Sciences at the University of Juba is dedicated to equipping students with the knowledge, skills and leadership required to advance agricultural productivity, sustainability and value-chains in South Sudan and the wider East-African region. Core Values
Academic Programmes
We offer the Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Agricultural Sciences (5-year programme) as part of the School of Natural Resources & Environmental Studies. This programme combines foundational coursework—such as crop science, soil science, agronomy, agricultural economics, extension and value-chains—with extensive practical training including field visits, farm experiments and internships.

Admission Requirements & How to Apply
Undergraduate Admission RequirementsApplicants for the BSc (Hons) in Agricultural Sciences must fulfil the following criteria:
1.Successful completion of the South Sudan Certificate of Secondary Education (SSCSE) or an equivalent recognised qualification.
2.Satisfactory passes in English, Mathematics and at least one science subject (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Agriculture or Geography).
3.Strong performance in relevant subjects—preference given to candidates with background in Agriculture or Agricultural Science.
4.International applicants must hold equivalent qualifications recognised by the University of Juba; all documents must be translated into English if applicable.
5.Mature entry may be granted to applicants with relevant experience in agriculture or related sectors, subject to approval by the University Senate.
How to Apply
1.Obtain the admission application form from the University’s Admissions Office or download it from the University website.
2.Complete the form, ensuring all personal, academic and professional (if applicable) information is provided accurately. Attach certified copies of academic transcripts/certificates, passport-size photographs and national ID (or passport for international students).
3.Pay the non-refundable application fee as specified in the form or on the University website.
4.Submit the completed application and attachments to:The Admissions Office, University of Juba, P.O. Box 82, Juba – South Sudan or via the designated email (e.g., admissions@uoj.edu.ss) if online submission is permitted.
5.Applicants shortlisted will be contacted via the email or phone number provided and may be invited for interview or further assessment. Successful candidates will receive an official Admission Letter outlining registration, orientation and next steps.
