The Department of Physics at the University of Juba is dedicated to educating graduates who understand the fundamental laws of nature and their applications in technology, instrumentation, energy, environment and industry. We provide strong theoretical foundations combined with hands-on laboratory experience and applied applications to equip students for diverse scientific and technical careers.

To deliver high-quality undergraduate education in physics, foster applied and fundamental research and engage with industry and community to produce graduates who contribute scientifically and technically to the economy, infrastructure and environment of South Sudan and the region.

Core Values
Academic Programme
The Department offers the Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Physics (5 years), as part of the School of Applied & Industrial Sciences. Students study core physics topics—mechanics, electromagnetism, thermal physics, quantum physics—as well as applied areas including instrumentation, electronics, materials, environmental physics and computation. Practical laboratory sessions, fieldwork, instrumentation projects and a final-year research project equip students for employment or postgraduate study.

Undergraduate Admission Requirements Applicants for the BSc (Hons) in Physics must meet the following criteria:
How to Apply
1. Obtain the application form from the University’s Admissions Office or download it from the University website.
2. Complete the form accurately and attach certified copies of academic transcripts/certificates, a passport-sized photograph, and national ID/passport (for international applicants).
3. Pay the non-refundable application fee as specified in the form or on the University website.
4. Submit the completed application form and supporting documents to: Admissions Office, University of Juba, P.O. Box 82, Juba – South Sudan. (Alternatively, follow any specified online submission route if available.)
5. Applicants who are shortlisted will be contacted by email or telephone and may be invited for interview or assessment. Successful candidates will receive an official Admission Letter with registration, orientation and next steps.
